CD 4040 The CD 4040 is a 12 stage binary counter. Each output divides the frequency delivered to the clock-line, by 2. The maximum division is 4096. The output goes high after 2048 cycles and then low after another 2048 cycles. When the Reset line is taken HIGH, all outputs become LOW. The CD 4040 is a CMOS chip.
